Book Description:

They are beautiful. They are rich. They are strong willed and successful. They have everything, but love. And each one of them has a dark secret looming in their past.

Sophia is a 25 year old Brazilian widow. Intelligent and ravishing, she flees from her own country after a tragic incident. Hiding from everyone and everything, she remains alone, torn between the love for a dead man, the torment of living without part of her memory and the fear of moving on.

Ethan is one of the most important tycoons in the steel industry. As the memory of an awful evening in his adolescence haunts him night and day, he keeps looking for an elusive woman whom he could love – and who would love him – as he never has in all his 35 years… Until he finds Sophia.

Alistair is a 34 year old powerful banker, searching for one–night stands with women who will warm his bed. And that he can punish physically to abate his anger for his late wife’s black deeds and his own guilt for being such a debauched man for so many years. Any woman will do, and he has many to choose from, as they all fall instantly for his manly, devilish charming ways.

In Europe, in the months after October 2009, their paths will cross and clash.
This is the first book of the trilogy TRUST, this is an adult contemporary romance lavishly set in a billionaire’s Europe, deriving its strength from realistic and dramatic character interactions in their hunt for trust and love.

Contains strong language and graphic sex scenes.

Book Review:

This was an emotional read, with compelling characters, an interesting mystery and a beautifully descriptive writing style. As a debut offering, Ms. Serruya has produced a fairly competent work, well plotted, paced and fleshed out. While I found some of the description overly focused on the materialistic often to the detriment of the luxe feel that I believe the author was looking to achieve: I did understand the styling and was able to visualize the story as I read.

Characters were well defined, if not perfect: their backstories and turbulent pasts all manage to find logical and rational explanations although there were some curiously neglected traits left unexamined: Sophia’s facility with languages was unexplored, yet mentioned as a badge of honor. Additionally there was some confusion with her behavior and reactions, where she did not react to obviously abusive behaviors from the two men in her life with a similar approach. The relationship dynamic was similar with both Alistair and Ethan, yet their aggression triggered wholly different reactions from her. That inconsistency still niggles at me.

While this book is characterized as contemporary erotic- the sexual scenes, while highly erotic in nature are not as frequent as I have come to see, but they are steamily sensual and sexual with well detailed scenes, believable and solid in their crafting.

Even with the few issues, this was a highly enjoyable and readable story – one suited for people who like contemporary romance with more emotion and luxurious settings, with a feel of Jacque Collins and less a sense of 50 Shades.

I received an eBook copy for purpose of honest review for Full Moon Bites tours. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

  1. Many thanks for your time reading and reviewing my book. I’m so glad you like the story. The sequel, Betrayed, is already selling and the third book, Pandora’s Box, is in the oven.
It was done on purpose the similarity on the relationships, because although they may seem that similar, in book 2, the explanation will show the reader how thin is the line between an alpha male and an abuser. That’s why Sophia had wholly different reactions. I hope you find the explanation satisfactory. Also, Ethan is Sophia’s first relationship after she widowed and that has to be looked with… hmmm… kind eyes.
Anyhow, the story continues… Sophia, Ethan and Alistair have much to explain and live.
Cheers and a warm hug from a sunny Rio de Janeiro,
