About the Book:
Free-spirited sex therapist Brianna Ballantine has four days to find a fiancé so she can inherit her birth mother’s Italian villa. Commitment is not on the agenda. Writing her sex therapy book and signing legal papers are. And once all is said and done, she’ll return home to Scotland.
For finance guru Tomas Richards, relationships have been a bad investment—give him stocks and shares any day. When Tomas offers a marriage of convenience to help Brianna secure her inheritance, the sizzle between the sheets promises an affair to remember, despite family complications at every turn.
But Tom must convince Brianna to stay, and make this Italian affair a lifelong commitment.
I really enjoyed this retreat to possibilities: Brianna is one of those people that no matter how she can frustrate you, her charm and zest for life is infectious and contagious. Tomas needs to encounter someone to shake up his life and pull the very large stick out of his butt, and teach him to let go and enjoy opportunities.
From his first, and very judgmental encounter with Brianna in the airport, the need to reach in and shake him was irrepressible: finding them as seatmates on a long flight from Australia to Italy gave us an opportunity to see him as reserved and not so rigid, even when he does all he can to stop Brianna’s attempts at conversation.
Arriving at Lipari and his taking over the arrangements for Brianna was very ‘white knight’, far from appearing as helpless, the emotional toll for Brianna was starting to wear at her, and her occasional breaks in composure, if not gung-ho attitude made her more appealing. When Tomas breaks character and indulges in one of the first impulsive acts of his life, his attempts to make the wedding to this stranger a memorable moment. And as they come to know one another, in close proximity, the sexual tension is palpable. What’s more amusing is the gradual but palpable sense of his relaxation and her attempts to weave more structure into her life.
Although the conclusion was rather rapid and neatly tied up the ends, it felt a bit hurried, even as I was cheering the couple to that happy ever after. The particular additions of Brianna’s biological grandfather’s acceptance and apology, and her scenes with her adoptive mother who knew Brianna’s birth mother were both touching and important to lead to the conclusion, and were beautifully written. Seaton has a smooth style that incorporates emotions, dual character arcs and beautiful scenery with clever dialog, palpable emotions and some steamy sex. This book is a perfect afternoon getaway that will have you searching the travel sites after turning the final page.
I received an eBook from Entangled Publishing for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
About the Author:

Her debut novel, Holiday Affair, a contemporary romance set in the South Pacific was released as part of Entangled Publishing’s Indulgence line in March. The sequel Italian Affair will be available in Spring 2013. Watch out for the story of Tom, and Brianna the sex therapist who spices up his life!
